FMEDA and Assessment reports

FMEDA stands for: Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostics Analysis.

FMEDA reports from exida document that the PR products examined have undergone an FMEDA assessment and have been found suitable for application in SIL 2 installations.

Who is exida?
exida is a leading test house in Europe when it comes to tests according to the failsafe standard IEC 61508. exida helps companies to integrate methods and procedures needed to meet international safety standards into their total quality management systems. exida has developed techniques for detail failure modes, effects and diagnostic analysis of electronic and mechanical equipment used in automation systems.

We use exida as a partner when we develop new products in accordance with IEC 61508 and when we wish to obtain FMEDA reports on existing products.
