Secure handling of waste
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive came into force in January 2007. Its aim is to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic waste going to landfill and to improve recovery and recycling rates.
In the UK, companies who need to comply with the WEEE directive must join an approved producer compliance scheme. PR electronics UK has an agreement with RENE AG and you can see our WEEE certificate here
In Denmark where PR electronics' products are manufactured, our partner in this area, ELRETUR, certifies that the producer (PR electronics) responsibility for management of WEEE in Denmark is assumed by ELRETUR on behalf of the company.
The company has reported all information as required by the Danish Statutory from 2005 on management of waste electrical and electronic equipment, including amounts of electrical and electronic products marketed in 2007 and budgeted for 2008.
On the basis of this information, ELRETUR has registered the company with the Danish WEEE-System until 31 of March 2009.
In its position as a collective scheme, ELRETUR ensures that the company fulfils its obligations at any time to manage WEEE in Denmark in accordance with Danish legislation.
