This approval of PR electronics’ working methods has paved the way for exida to issue a company certificate, declaring PR electronics competent to develop signal conditioning modules which can form part of the instrumentation for process-related SIL 2 safety functions. World-wide, only a small number of electronics manufacturers have achieved a similar approval of their development department. The company certification entails that future products developed by PR electronics can be certified to SIL 2 more quickly than otherwise possible because the working methods have already been approved. This also means that PR electronics is certified to perform modifications to products which have already been SIL 2-certified without the need to recertify them through exida.
