Q10: Preset software does not work... what do I do?

 

 

Answer: Confirm on the Device Manager that the 5909 is marked as an unknown device.

 

If YES, then update drivers manually from the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\PR electronics\PReset\Drivers (path depending of the OS language). If this does not help, go to next step.

 

Check that the COM port is properly selected, by checking PReset tools , COM port (info depending of the PReset language).

 

 


Question: I cannot receive the settings of the PR module from 5909, I get the fault message.

 

 

Answer: In PReset, first choose the “right module” you want to configure, (f.ex. 4116). Then click “receive” in preset. 

 


Question: I cannot receive the settings from the PR product, I get the same fault message.

 

 

Answer:  Give power supply to the module (e.g. 5116) and try again.

 


Question: I cannot receive the settings of the PR module from 5909, I get the fault message.

 

 

Answer: Check/update the PReset version according with the latest free download from prelectronics.com

 


 

Question: My PReset do not work on Windows7/8/8.1

 

Answer: Check the serial number (bar code) on the bottom of the 5909. If the serial number is < than 059999999, the 5909 cannot run on this windows version but only works on Windows XP…see the 5909 manual.
